Xero payment pages for finance
Finance controls for branded Xero Pay Now pages: invoice authority, duplicate-safe receipts, and Stripe as the card rail only.
Finance owns cash truth in Xero. The payment page exists so the customer can settle the invoice without finance typing the receipt afterwards.
Controls
- Xero remains the invoice and payment authority. Stripe collects the card; it is not a second set of books.
- Write-back uses a stable external id so a retry does not post the same cash twice.
- Recorded process runs support “did invoice SI-14 actually take payment?” without opening Stripe and Xero side by side.
Reconciliation stance
Bank feeds still exist. The point of the page is that the invoice is marked paid from the payment event, not from someone matching a settlement days later.
Month-end still closes in Xero. Operations, when connected, reads that same fact — see Xero → Logistaas for the hand-off after cash is in the ledger.
